Facilities

At Burhill our priorities are our children and staff, not buildings, however, we are extremely proud of our facilities and believe they do really enhance our children's learning and play environment.

Our Library

Burhill 093 Our children are able to enjoy a beautiful and well stocked library to spend time browsing and reading books.  They have regular library sessions and are able to apply to become school librarians further up the school under the care of our dedicated School Librarian who ensures we have all the latest titles and that the library is always a place to be welcomed and enjoyed.

Courtyard

Burhill 115 Reception children have two dedicated and separated areas to play, learn and explore.  Both are accessible directly outside their classrooms for free-flow play including our Courtyard which is full of equipment promoting imaginary play.  They also use the bigger playground equipment in the playground.

MUGA

Burhill 124 We are fortunate to have a large versatile and all weather sports pitch which our children use each day.  It is also used for numerous tournaments and inter house sports competitions throughout the year.

Scrap Store

Burhill 197 Our new Scrap Store is designed to promote imaginary and role play and is available for children at break and lunch times.

Forest School

Path 1Children regularly use the forest school area and pond under the guidance of our forest school leaders.  We also have forest school and gardening clubs which they can sign up for and take place at lunchtimes.

Bees

217 katielister burhill22We so lucky to have our Burhill bee hives on site!  We produce our very own honey thanks to our specialist bee keeper who visits regularly. Children are able to put on their protective suits and look at the hives to see exactly how honey is made and to learn the important impact bees have on our environment.
