Year 6

In Year Six, the children are taught the National Curriculum subjects: English, (reading, writing, speaking and listening), Mathematics, Science, Information and Communications Technology, Music, Design and Technology, Geography, History, Physical Education, French and Religious Education as well as Personal and Social Education, and Philosophy. The school meets all the statutory requirements for content and assessment of the current National Curriculum. We often teach these subjects in a cross curricular way that is meaningful, relevant and motivating for the children. As we plan according to the interests and needs of the children, no two years are the same. Our overarching theme each term, which inspires our learning, is introduced with a 'stunning starter' and ends with a 'fantastic finisher'. Each week has at least one 'memorable moment'.
